Classes will be Pro Mod, 10.5 W, True 10.5, Stock Suspension, 5.50, 6.00, 7.00. If you think this is a good ideal please let me know. If not let me know. I have looked and I havent seen a big race going on that weekend so I thought why not and try and make it an annual event.

What about a payout and entry fee. I would like to know how this $30,000 would be split up.

Maybe a 4.90 class and open it up to any car even dragsters seems now that the biggest majority of dragsters are in the 5.00 to 4.90 and quicker. Main thing is to keep timed throttle stops out of any of the index classes. You can make your car run the index you just gotta work on it Wink

It is a known fact that a dragster will out react a doorcar on a pro tree. However, if the class was created and a doorcar wanted in that would be the choice of the participant. I would
like the class created for the participation of the open wheeled cars and just see if they come.

Ricky, Your idea for the promod is a good one, however you might want to index this class to increase participation since a lot of the faster cars cannot run in the mid to low 4's.
An index would increase your chance of getting more cars in this class.

I would like to do a open index race. But scared that no door cars would show up. I dont really think a dragster has anymore advantage if a door car driver can cut a good light. Just takes practice.

We did that in the past. But now we have guys that come to almost every event that we have and they can run low 4s every pass so that is a hard judgment call to make. Because they dont want to slow there cars down. We have 8 cars in just a 90 mile radius that can go faster than 4.30s some of them have gone 4.00s.

You say that you have 8 cars that can go low fours. At atmore and mmp last month there were 20 cars that ran in the 4.70 class.

They must have not been Pro Mods typical Pro mods run low 4s. But we might need to have a 4.70 index class our something. The problem is coming up with categories to fit everyone into and if you did it would have to be a 4 day race.

Glenn we have a Mustang that weighs 3190 with stock suspension and 10x28 tires with 1.76 glide and no nos it will go 4.0'S and has been 3.80's. NOT DEEP STAGING You gotta work on the car to make it work. Now most bracket cars are set up for a full tree but they can adapt just takes some work. Wink
