yes you are very true about filling the stands with a heads up race, but it is not a family event.i would nut even think of bring my wife and children to a event such as it.there is alot of fitting , cussing, and at times gun fire.i dont believe i have ever heard of anyone getting stabbed or shot at a bracket race. what the hub needs to realize is that it was bracket racers that helped all of the local tracks get up and going and keep them going.now the bracket racers are being thrown to the curb.i just will like to see what happens when the heads up classes start having low car counts, will the hub then try to go back to bracket racing and throw the heads ups cars to the curb????????

As far as Hub City is concerned. We are a race track business which is in business to race and make money to pay our employees and bills. We want to have all kinds of races that make money but if they dont then we cant pay our employees or expenses and any business cant survive if it can not make money.

Heads up racing is great but most tracks exclude most of the cars. MY altered runs close to 5:30's which is as quick as most altereds but not all of them. Most dragsters will not run a 4:70. Most heads up races are for door cars only. If we could run the heads up classes then we could speed up the cars to fit the class. The way I view it is a 5:30 is a 5:30 whether the car has dors or not.
We just attended the headsup nationals at Emerald Coast in Holt, Fl. Not only was the place packed but family atmosphere abounded. There were some 3,000 spectators and probably some 150 cars in competition. We broke and could not compete. Heads Up racing is growing very rapidly in other areas and we need to get some started in this area. Emerald Coast has already announced 3 races of this type for early next year.
