I think it is great that someone is trying to bracket race back at the Hub, but why should the races come runing back for one race?I will be at the track that bracket races every weekend,it will be 30-45 min. longer pull but they are there every week for us.
Ricky:I would love to come back to the HUB. maybe in 08, if yall start racing agean, but till then got to help the ones that help me. Their are a lot of racer that fill like I do ,so dont go by the turnout you get on one race every 6-8 mmonth with out big money in it.
To me this looks like a good opportunity for someone who hasn't been able to get a handle on their car, or hasn't been bracket racing very long a chance to race for a few bucks without haveing to deal with that guy whose dead on with a 00 light everytime, those guys are probably in the points fund and don't want to leave their weekly track. might be a duck hunt, I'm a self proclaimed duck that is planning on being there on the 15th, might be some easy money for some of you guys and gals, come and get me if you can.

I am curious as to what payout will be with less than the number (40) in eletronics class. Seems that the entry for the 1500 is a little high, sure would not want to pay the 60.00 entry for less than the 1500. Thanks
Yea, that is what i was thinking, $50 is a little high for a $800 footbrake race.I am not complaining by no means, just glade to see yall having a race.Anymore in the near future?Good luck.

Well it just depends. I will be checking on some things and I am looking into doing a program in 2008. But if everyone is still holding a grudge against Hub City, or Todd and Ralph who dont even come out to the track then it really will seem pointless to try a program in 2008 that might not get supported.
I am not saying I am not supporting yall, I wish yall would do something for 2008.i like to come up there, I been there a pretty good bit just on sundays to test and tune. The track works great, and if yall have a spill it is taking care of quickly.I am not downing or talking bad about yall.Yall do a great job every time I go there. Are yall gonna have the street car races this christmas?
Ricky, I am afraid if you base the future of bracket racing at hub city on the turn out for this race, we are all going to be disappointed. There are just too many other tracks running this weekend. Maybe later in the year, when some of the other tracks cut back to not running every weekend, this might have a better chance. I think it is better for everyone, if we can let the past, be the past, and move on. We know we can't change what has happened in the past. I also think that whomever tries to run a bracket program at hub, will have to be able and willing to lose some money, at least for a while, and I don't mean a race or two, I mean that will have to be able to make the racers want to come back. After all, for most of us this is our form of entertainment, so we are going to go whereever we have the best time. Sometimes it seems that track owners have forgetten that we(racers) are CUSTOMERS. I know for me as a customer I am going to go where I feel appreciated. I think it will take a while before most of the locals to feel that way again. I know that Gaylon was really trying to make all of us feel appreciated, but he just wasn't financial able to weather the storm, so to speek. I admit I was suprised that he didn't have any better support, but it is going to take more than locals for anyone to be sucessful at the hub. I also think you have done a pretty good job for the situtation you were put in, and I realize I don't have all the answers. But after better than 40 years of racing(yes I am old) I do have some ideas . The hub CAN still be a fun place to race, but it will take a lot of work. Thank you for trying.
You make a good point Hershal. I could definitly do a better job but I only can put so much time into the track because it is not my main source of income. Todd and Ralph does not make a dime from the Track and have not recieved a check in two or three years from the track. Todd and I really would like to see bracket racing return to the track but not at a loss. I would much rather see bracket racers come in than just rifraf off of the street with throwed together cars that has junkyard engines that are just waiting to blow up. And for the most part bracket racers has common sense. What I am trying to say is just be patient and let me try to put something together. If Chad Ethridge would want to do a series between our tracks I probably can get Todd and Ralph to go for that. Ralph does not care if we bracket race or not he does not care to be envolved since he got married and started a new chapter in his life. All he is concerned with is that the track continue to pay its on way. I love DRAG RACING AS MUCH AS ANYONE and I dont want to lose it from our area. That is the only reason I work at the Track. And I do appreciate and like to see any bracket racer show up for any race. I grew up with most of yall. example(Delman Busha and Hershal Slade) And every once in awhile I get to race with yall. That is what makes it worth while to me.
I wish i could have come out and raced and seen some of you but my dad just hade back surgery. It will be a wile longer before i can get away to race or visit as far as that goes. Maybey in a few more weeks i will feel safe enough to leave him alone for a while. Hershal send me you e-mail address my I can keep up with a some things thats way.
Rickey, I think a series between battlefield and hub would be great. If you can pull that off it would defently get me more excited about racing.
