Gaylon, Have we had any footbrake cars that fast before. I can only think of 1 that may have been that quick and I think it was a dragster. I believe there should be an ET break, is 5.70 the right number is what im not sure of. Anyone else have any thoughts?

I have heard of tracks doing this. I doesn't matter to me, they still have to get the tree. I also think we need who ever we can get in footbrake to help the car count.

I think SPORTSMAN - if anything, should have and ET break. I also think Jr Dragster class should have the same driver rule as sportsman- that is if you enter the jr or sportsman you cant drive in another class.

I am asking this question with the thinking of how we can grow the 30-40 Footbrake field we usually have.

So what if we made the weekend entry of $50 with $1,000 to WIN both days.

Thanks,
Gaylon

Sportsman was designed as an entry level class not limited by age, but for drivers to learn and hopfully gather some confidence to move into Footbrake or electronics. Jrs are limited by there age however they can drive anyclass at any track in the country when they get there state drivers license and also compete in the junior class through the year of there 18th birthday so im not sure where your going with that. Plenty junoir drivers driving in stock and super stock and still running juniors. So why limit them infact I know one that competes in supergas. Theres actually 3 or 4 more getting ready to make the move to footbrake and it seems to me that any track or promoter would welcome the extra tech card and added numbers to the class

No disrespect or discredit was intended to any man, woman or child that races the KOC series especially the jr drivers. They are all a great group of people/racers. Maybe i worded what i said wrong. I simply meant, i dont think its fair to the jr class for a pro electronic or pro footbrake calibur competitor to step down and then run the jr class at the same event. Again, no disrespect.

For that entry vs payout i think you would definately gain enties into the pro footbrake class. One of them would be me. Big Grin

I think at $50.00 for the weekend you would lose most of your sportsman class because they would move to footbrake. May have some electronics cars move to footbrake also. May also bring in some additional cars. Big picture is KOC is not getting footbrakers from south Louisiana because they race 1/4mile and most have a dislike for 1/8mile. SRC and NPR get 40- 60 Footbrakers on there Saturday programs that we never see. Entry fee reduction may sway them to 1/8th mile who knows. Dont misunderstand i am not saying we should go 1/4 mile. I like the 1/8th mile format we currently run very much,
