Anyone swap from standard sidewalls to stiff sidewalls in a door car? What was the outcome? I did, but it wasn't on purpose, ordered standard and got stiff sidewalls. Had a race the next day so I ran them anyway. Seems like the MPH picked up 2 mph over best pass with the stiff sidewalls in the 1/8th but stayed the same in 1/4. Whats up with this? Looks like is moving around at the 330' a little but the 60' is consistent. Had to drop the tire pressure by 1 lb to get them to work. Tire pressure: Standard sidewalls 7 psi, stiff sidewalls 6 psi, 7 psi wouldn't work.

Setup:
2750 lbs
Struts/4link
555 = 950 hp
1/4 ET 8.50's @158 to 160 / 1/8 ET 5.40's @126 to 130

Sounds like the Gremlin is getting a little nervous and it may not be tires at all! Rumor has it that a certain Chevelle may be installing some electronics soon? I would take some out of the box and dial up one!

Gotcha K MO.
Good luck with the tires.

Looks like a car that is perfect for stiff sidewall tires, with that weight and power.

Might take some shock tuning to get it to stick downtrack.
