Remainder of Summit Pro-Am at State Capitol Raceway day two postponed due to weather
For the second day in a row thunderstorms forced the postponement of racing at the Division 4 Summit Pro-Am presented by AMSOIL.
Saturday’s Pro-Am and Summit Racing Equipment Tournament of Champions presented by AMSOIL qualifier was finished on Sunday while day two of the Pro-Am will be finished throughout the year.
Remaining car counts are: Top Sportsman 2, Top Dragster 5, Super Stock 2, Stock 4, Quick Rod 4, Super Rod 3, Hot Rod 2, Junior Master 2 and Junior Advanced 2. There are also four cars left in ET No Box and five in ET Box.
After a meeting between the Division 4 Director and all of the drivers still in competition, the plan for resolving the postponed rounds is as follows.
1. Top Dragster, Top Sportsman, Quick Rod, Super Rod and Hot Rod will run their remaining rounds at the Summit Sportsman Spectacula presented by AMSOIL at San Antonio Raceway, May 25-27.
2. Stock, Super Stock, and the two Junior Dragster classes will run their remaining rounds at the Division 4 Summit Pro-Am event at Memphis, August 17-19.
3. ET Box and No Box racers, who all turned out to be "local" racers at State Capitol Raceway, agreed to split the purse. Racers in each of the two classes will arrange a runoff at the track to determine who gets the Iron Man and Runner-up trophies for this event.
