Victories by Smith, K.J. tighten POWERade Pro Stock races
Matt Smith in Pro Stock Motorcycle and Kurt Johnson in Pro Stock used victories at the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals to close the gaps on the points leaders in their respective classes, and Jack Beckman used a runner-up to get off the Countdown to 1 cutoff in Funny Car. Top Fuel winner Tony Schumacher just kept adding to his already insurmountable lead.
