Bogacki Kicks Off 2009 Where He Left Off in 08 with Mobile Footbrake Nationals Triumph

Mobile, AL: Bracket racing standout Luke Bogacki added to his growing list of sportsman racing accolades last Saturday, capturing his 2nd Mobile Footbrake Nationals victory in three years at the wheel of his www.ThisIsBracketRacing.com Chevrolet Vega. Bogacki maneuvered through a talented field of bottom bulb competitors to reach the final round opposite Terryl Paul. There, he took a .012 to .037 starting line advantage and crossed the finish line first by the slimmest of margins to take a 5.827 (5.80 dial-in) victory over Paul's dead-on 6.153.

The 2009 kickoff marked Bogacki's third consecutive final round appearance at the annual event. Bogacki won the opening day of the Mobile Footbrake Nationals in 2007 (what was then a 2-day event), and took runner-up honors to Mark Taylor on day 2 last season.

While Bogacki will look back on his 2008 season with memories of a stellar outing within the IHRA ranks (in which he compiled 4 national event wins, a division championship, and a top-5 finish in a remarkable 3 categories), he also enjoyed a diverse run of strong bracket finishes to close the 2008 campaign. In early October, Bogacki enjoyed a strong showing at the annual Million Dollar Race, where he advanced to the quarterfinal round of the main event, and then took runner-up honors in the final $30,000-to-win event, both in his Vega. Weeks later, he earned a $5,000 No Box victory at the iron man classic event at Middle Tennesse Dragway. He followed that up with a strong showing at the annual Florida Winter Series, where he drove Bruce Thrift's dragster to a runner-up finish in one of Bradenton Motorsports Park's $15,000-to-win 5-Day events. After returning from Florida, he won a $5,000 6.0 heads up event in his familiar Vega at Chilton County Dragway, before closing the season with back-to-back big dollar triumphs at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway at the wheel of his American Race Cars dragster.

Bogacki credited a long list of marketing partners for his continued success, including his new website, www.ThisIsBracketRacing.com. The site is essentially an online driving school, aimed at educating current and future competitors and advancing the race strategy of all participants. The site will launch in the coming weeks. He also credited Mickey Thompson Tires, JEGS, Bill Taylor Engineering, American Race Cars, and Huntsville Engine and Performance for their support, in addition to a host of additional marketing partners. Those include Brodix Cylinder Heads, CSR Performance Products, Nitrous Express, Goza Racing Products, Moser Engineering, Auto Meter, K&R Performance Engineering, ISC Racer8 0s Tape, Milodon, Hedman Hedders, Advanced Product Design, Nitroplate, B&M, Figspeed.com, AFCO, TD Performance Products, K&N Filters, and Rockett Brand Race Fuels.
