I.R.R Hosts 15th Points Race

Immokalee Regional Raceway hosted one of the last few Points races of the season this past weekend. As the season nears end and the IHRA Divisional finals grow near the Points battle is really heating up in all classes. In the Combo class there is 1 point separating 1st place (Brian Boose) from 2nd place (Jay Adams) and only 75 points separating 5th place (Randy Leavy) from 1st place. The Sportsman Class has a little more breathing room as 1st place (Tom Booher) holds a 68 point lead over 2nd place (Pedro Tirado) and a 131 point lead over 5th place (Bill Kapke). In the Jr. Dragster class Points battle its Nathan Gray hanging on to 1st place with a 43 point lead over Sean Iemma who is closing the gap quickly and Bradley Snowball holds down 3rd place only 44 points behind 2nd place.

In the Combo class final round this past weekend at IRR it was Matt Cummings getting the win running a 5.14 ET on a 5.13 dial with a .525 RT over Jay Adams who ran a 6.95 ET on a 6.96 dial with a .515 RT for runner up.

In the Sportsman class final round it was Tom Booher getting the win running dead on (6.67) with a .507 RT over Pedro Tirado who ran a 7.02 ET on a 7.04 dial with a .522 RT for runner up.

In the Jr. Dragster class final round it was Sean Iemma getting the win running a 7.91 ET on a 7.90 dial with a .525 RT over Nathan Gray who had problems off the line and was not able to complete the run.

Immokalee Regional Raceway also hosted a Quick 32 race where in the final round it was Rick McDonough taking on Jason McCandless. McDonough got the win running a 5.48 ET on a 5.47 dial with a .516 RT while McCandless running a 5.23 ET on a 5.21 dial with a .505 for runner up.

In the Trophy class final round it was Gary Bowlin capturing his 5th and final win in that class. Bowlin being a loyal learner and racing every week in the beginners class has progressed right along and with this 5th win can not race in that class so now he has to move up to the Sportsman class or go big and put electronics in the car and run the Combo class. In the final round Bowlin got the win running a 9.13 ET on a 9.10 dial with a .596 RT over Dan Short.
