Performance by Fisher Racing becomes a “Part of the Legend”

LIMA, OHIO – April 13, 2009 – It was just a few short months ago that, Performance by Fisher Racing’s team driver, Kathy Fisher licensed at Frank Hawley’s Drag Racing School in Top Alcohol Dragster.

Kathy left the school with many memorable moments of the exhilarating experience. Some of those included driving a car with a clutch, shifting a 3-speed Lenco, pulling the chutes at 230 M.P.H and maybe more importantly making it into the five second zone for the very first time on her final licensing pass.

The team also came away from the famed Gainesville, Florida School with something else, an appreciation for the tires that propel the school cars down the track, Mickey Thompson. (www.mickeythompsontires.com)

“I can safely say that we have studied the video of my Top Alcohol licensing passes quite a bit since December,” Kathy noted. “We learned so much. Some, which was almost a surprise, because it wasn’t something we were looking for and that would be the super performance of the Mickey Thompson slicks on the school car.”

“We got to really thinking about my last day of class. The staff at Frank Hawley’s had once again done a fantastic job of preparing the track, and even though I was the only car on the track that day, I made my fastest passes ever. That car just stuck right to the track. That’s a tribute not only to the school but also to the parts and products they choose to use,” she continued.

“So I asked myself, ‘why wouldn’t we want the same kind of results from tires on our team cars’, and the answer was pretty easy. Seeing as how it was my first time launching with a clutch and it being a blown alcohol car, my 60 ft times were rather consistent. In addition, all one has to do is take a look at folks like Bogaki and Williams, Jr., etc. They win because they are darn good racers and they know the brands it takes to be consistent and go rounds on all kinds of tracks, under all kinds of conditions. Products,” she paused, “such as Mickey Thompson Performance Tires.”

Starting with Kathy’s first event of the season this coming weekend at Budds Creek, Maryland (April 17-19), the team has made the complete switch to Mickey Thompson tires.

“After seeing the results Mickey Thompson Tires provided for me in the school car, I cannot wait to begin utilizing their products at the IHRA double divisional event this weekend. Maybe even more so when Kevin’s new Top Dragster hits the track in the coming weeks,” she added.

In addition to #3004 M/T ET Dragster Fronts on both team cars, the Quick Rod car will run Mickey Thompson’s #3185 (33.5/16.5-16) and Mickey Thompson’s #3186 (34.5/17-16) for the new 2009 Top Dragster.
